Guys - I have a nasty little virus so was hoping someone else would be able to host tonight. There's not too much to it - you just need to put up a mobile number and then keep an eye out for people turning up on their own and letting them know the group is there. There is an area reserved and Sam is the Amani 'hostess' for the night, so she will be looking after everyone and making sure they know where to go. It's on a small bar so easy to find everyone - we have a spot near the front.
So, a new bar opened up in my locality a few months back but I haven't made it there very often for some reason. However, I went last night and was delighted to find out that they do rather reduced price cocktails on a Wednesday. And then we had some food (all sharing plates) and it was fabulous! Sold, I thought. Must come here more often......
Now, they are busy at the weekends but are still a little quiet during the week so thought it might be a good idea to try and organise a mid week meet up. If Wednesday isn't Cocktail Day, then I don't know when is!
The venue is is one of Perth's gorgeous new small bars, a bit of a french bistro/bar feel in terms of decor. The bar staff know their cocktails, provide full table service and are possibly among the friendliest in Perth. The chef is a joy (well his food is, I haven't actually met him personally!).
And why is this an experiment? Because, historically, I don't think mid week meet ups have had much of a turnout but hey, worth a try! Leederville is only one train stop away from the CBD on the Joondalup / Clarkson line and the bar, only a couple of minutes walk from there.
