Bate-papo is Portuguese for chat, conversation, talk.
So we meet and talk, and talk, to practice our Portuguese and learn from each other.
Do you have an interest in the Portuguese language? The purpose of this group is for individuals in the Capital District Region (Albany, Saratoga, Schenectady, and Rensselaer County) to meet and share their interest in Portuguese. Native speakers, advanced learners and beginners are encouraged to join.
We're from diverse backgrounds and speaking abilities, and our aim is to bring both native speakers and learners together, to learn and practice Portuguese.
Also we want to learn about the Portuguese speaking countries: Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau, Angola, and others by attending cultural events.
Our events may include meetings at coffee shops or restaurants, cultural events, concerts, movies, excursions, or perhaps a simple barbecue at a park or at a member's house.
Your input is encouraged and very much appreciated. You can always get in touch with us through the "Contact" link, on the left.
