"Scrum Community & Corporate Citizenship" with Tobias Mayer

We are lucky enough to have Tobias Mayer coming to talk to us during a whistle-stop tour of Europe this month.

About Tobias...

I am a facilitator, guide and coach, specialising in Agile transformation at both the executive management and product development levels of the organisation.

My background is in software development, testing, community counselling work, technical theatre and graphic design. I bring these skills to bear in my work in the Agile field, where I have been engaged as a freelance consultant since 2005.

I educate and guide from a principles perspective, rather than a process-focused one. This approach allows organisations to contextualize the Agile principles, and wisely apply the practices of Scrum, Kanban and XP in a way that can be embraced by the whole organisation.

You can follow Tobias on Twitter here.

Such a simple exercise, yet so much to discuss. Very informative.

A simple game prompted some very interesting and relevant thoughts about the behaviours and values that influence us at work.

Good meetup, on the "fear" value or motivator side, this came up in the previous Agile workshop. This is relevant to both scrummers and the organisations we work for (something my boss highlighted in the last workshop slides). Interesting that once some of the fear of the "unknown" was removed and trust built, not only did the game not stop, but it increased rapidly in velocity and concurrency.
