Here's a quick note to keep you up to date on all of the BathSPARK events that you can get involved with over the next few months:
1. The BathSPARK summer BBQ featuring the "I'm looking for..." pitching session
Tickets for this year's summer party & BBQ will become available in the next few weeks. In the mean time, keep the evening of 4th September free. The format for the party will be free BBQ & drinks for up to 100 people and we will be inviting people who are looking for (any kind of) help to pitch the room: all you have to do is sign up and when it is your turn, stand up and say "I am looking for... investment, advice, staff, coding, logo design, desk space, etc..." No better way to get your request out to a relevant group of people.
2. Open Coffee for startups at The Guild coworking space
BathSPARK and Coworking Bath have teamed up to host an open coffee morning (11am every Friday) at The Guild - the new coworking space in the Guildhall. The coffee morning is open to all startups - pop along to have a cup of coffee and meet like minded people.
3. Techie Brekkies
Still one of the most popular BathSPARK event formats, the breakfast networking sessions are moving venue to The Guild from September. The Big Data Brekkie (7 Aug) is now sold out, but you can still buy tickets for the Mobile Apps (11 Sept) and Digital for Good (9 Oct).
4. Bath Digital Festival - get involved!
The second Bath Digital Festival (in March this year) was a great success with most events booked out despite the unseasonably cold weather! We're currently in the process of applying for funding for next year's festival - which we are planning to hold later in the year in 2014, provisionally looking at late June (TBC).
We're currently looking for volunteers to help organise the festival. It's a fantastic way to get involved in the Bath Tech Scene, and make some great contacts along the way!
We're looking for people to help with individual tasks, such as photography, design, flyer-ing nearer the date, people to organise individual events, as well as organisers for the overall programme of events, liaising with venues, helping to market etc.
We're holding an initial meeting on the 6th August at 5.30pm at the Coworking Space at the Guildhall for all who are interested in getting involved, in any capacity, when we'll run through the proposed dates, a skeleton programme, and work out a timetable for making 2014 the best Digital Festival yet. 5. BathSPARK - get involved!
The BathSPARK team has a lot planned for 2013-14 in terms of events and also in terms of providing you all (our 600+ members!) with better tools and information: news, job ads, directory of services, etc... If you are interested in joining the team to help make this happen and ensure that Bath becomes one of the best tech clusters in the UK, please get in touch with any of the organisers.
We would like to congratulate Tom and Tatjana on the opening of The Guild - Bath's new coworking space. If you haven't yet, please do pop in and ask for a tour. It is a great space and a natural meeting point for all BathSPARKers.
