I know this is off-topic but there has been an overlap of people who enjoy games and fencing so I wanted to mention that sport fencing classes are starting on Monday (January 16th) for all ages and all skill levels.

They are for ages 11 and up (daytime classes can be as young as 8), including adults, and for all skill levels. If you have prior fencing experience, please join us. If this will be your first time holding an epee or foil, please join us. The classes are taught in a recreational, fun atmosphere in which the student is encouraged to improve to the best of his or her abilities. We know that you probably won't end up being an Olympic athlete and that's okay. We want you to enjoy fencing so that it becomes a lifelong fitness activity for you.

The daytime fencing classes are on Monday and Thursday in the recreation center at BREC's Kathy Drive Park (1801 Kathy Drive in Baton Rouge -- near Millerville and I-12). The cost is $50 per month for the group classes. Fencing equipment is purchased separately. These classes are being put on by the Red Stick School of Fencing in affiliation with the Baton Rouge Fencing Club. Ryan O'Connor is the coach for these classes. The website is www.redstickfencing.com
Beginners' Class : Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 11 am.
Advanced Class: Monday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Private lessons will be held from 12:40 pm to 2:00 pm. The cost is $25 for 20 minutes.

Evening classes are also on Monday and Thursday but they are being held at the Christ Covenant Church (1700 Lee Drive in Baton Rouge - south of Perkins Road on Lee/College). The beginning and advanced classes are held at the same time, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The cost is $50 per month for the group classes. Fencing equipment is purchased separately. These classes are being put on by the Baton Rouge Fencing Club. Coach O'Connor will be teaching the beginning class in the evening. This semester the concentration will be on foil. Private lessons are available from 8:30 pm to 10 pm on Monday and Thursday with the cost being $25 for a 20 minute lesson. There is a website for the Baton Rouge Fencing Club at www.brfencing.org.

If you need more details please contact the coach, Ryan O'Connor, at ryan at redstickfencing dot com.
