This will be about a 4-5 mile hike and is pretty flat. Oh and very pretty. The rating is Pretty (for good views) Easy (for level hiking). Obviously the rating depends on your condition. For me, I expect this will be difficult ;-)
An online 5 Star review had this to say... "Great place to: ride your bike, run, site see, critter watch, take in the natural beauty, make out!, reflect, skip rocks and get away from it all."
So does that sound interesting? It sounds relaxing, which is my idea of a Sunday hike. Nothing that will stress your body.
Just get away, enjoy some nice company, sip some vino, and chill.
These people look bored. Therefore this is not our grp.
Our grp doesn't do things that are boring. I personally make sure of that!
Some of what we'll see on this hike...
There are no wineries in the park, sooooo bring those bottles!
This looks like a possible lunch and vino stop.
I like the combo of sun and shade,
w/ us and vino of course!
What To Bring:
Vino! (and cups)
Good Hiking Boots/shoes
Layered clothing, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent(?)
1-2 liters of cold water (1/2 fill and refrigerate, then top w/ ice in the a.m.)
Lunch ~ Food (no, not just a personal sandwich) food to share (sliced sandwiches, salad, cheese/crackers (I love sharp cheddar) dried fruit/nuts/seeds, chips, dips, salsa, deserts - be creative.) We're talking potluck! Sharing the meal is part of connecting w/ everyone.
Drinks, drinks, drinks! Vino, beer, tea, juice - whatever whets your whistle.
If you've been on any of my hikes you know what to expect (if you haven't, then where have you been?) - so be prepared for fun!
$5 activity fee - thx!
Your sense of humour is an absolute must!
Directions: From Highway 101 in San Rafael, exit at N. San Pedro Road and follow to China Camp.
Plan on parking outside the park, on the side of the road by the park entry.
We will be joined by folks from other grps, so make some new friends!
