It's Vino Tasting Time - Wine Tasting in Fairfax

~~~IT"S WINE TIME!!!~~~

The featured varietal for October is Petite Sarah.

This will be a blind tasting of the stated varietal. (No you don't have to be blind to do this - just wear some cool sunglasses) . 

We'll meet at a member's home in Fairfax for hors d'oeuvres, vino, dinner, and fun!

There will be a social hour beginning at 7:00pm then we'll start the tasting at 7:30 or 8:00, or whenever we get to it, as we want to accommodate members coming from out of town.

Ea member brings a bottle in the $20-$30 price range.

The bottles will be bagged and numbered and we'll have note sheets w/ categories for rating the wine. At the end of the night (or sooner) we'll determine which bottle wins ( this will be determined numerically) - pls no questions yet!

If this isn't clear I'm sure it's just because I'm a kindergarten dropout, and has nothing to do w/ the fact that you're just not grasping what I'm saying.

Just kidding.  Well not about my education, or lack thereof.  Ah, but I digress.  Don't worry about the details, as they will sort themselves, and once you've done this you'll love it.

My top priority is for everyone to have fun and connect, so pls bring whatever you want, and pls be patient if the tasting doesn't begin when you expect it to.

The only requirements are listed below under "What To Bring".

Beyond that bring whatever you think we'll enjoy. There's no pressure to spend a ton of $$$ on this event, so just come and enjoy.

As always, PLEASE update your RSVP early if you think you won't make it - out of consideration for the host home and the grp - thx!  In the past we've waited to start, for members who never showed up.

What To Bring:

~A bottle of Petite Sarah in the $20-$30 price range (this insures a relatively consistent tasting).  If you're not familiar w/ Red Blends  just go to Bottle Barn or somewhere that can guide you to a good one.

~Hors d'oeuvres - be creative (brie and sourdough or crackers is one of my favourites, especially when the brie is hot), hard cheeses w/ crackers or bread, meats, cheeses, etc.

As always, your sense of humour is required!


~A main or side dish - again be creative.

~Extra vino you think we might enjoy during the social hour, prior to the tasting.

Come expecting to have fun, enjoy socializing, and learn something new about vino!
