This will be a full day of fun in the Redwoods, w/ the option of staying for dinner around the campfire.

Armstrong Redwoods is a small reserve, with just over 800 acres, and features some of the largest old-growth redwood forest in Sonoma County. As you stroll through this beautiful old-growth redwood forest, you'll see some of the tallest and oldest trees remaining in this part of California. The Parson Jones Tree is about 310 feet high; the Colonel Armstrong Tree is more than 1,400 years old.

The Plan: We'll do a moderate to strenuous hike that will include a couple breaks (including our typical a vino/snack break), and then have lunch afterwards down in the shady redwood grove, which is absolutely gorgeous! There are BBQ pits in the park so if someone brings a stove or charcoal we can BBQ like we did on Angel Island.

We'll leave the food and coolers in the cars until after the hike, then we'll load all the coolers/food into a few cars and drive into the picnic area. This will be more like the Angel Island Bash than any of my other hikes, w/ the emphasis being on food, vino, and party!

The Hike: This will be a moderate to strenuous 5-6 mile hike (800' elevation gain) up, around, and down through this beautiful redwood park.

Last time several of us stayed till long after dark around the campfire chatting, and making s'mores - so be prepared for anything!

DIRECTIONS:   [masked],[masked]

From Highway 101, take the River Road exit (in Santa Rosa). Go west on River Road until you reach Guerneville. At the second stop light make a right hand turn onto Armstrong Woods Road. This road will end in the park. The parking lot is on the right (just before the park entrance) - we'll meet there!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
