Let's Plan for a few more awesome Spring Adventures!!

  • March 1, 2013 · 8:00 AM

Please submit some ideas for great places, activities, and events you would like to share with the members of this Meetup group!!  Spring is a great time to share some fun and get out of the house with new and old friends! Let's dream up some new adventures!!  What's one of your favorites?

Examples:
-My favorite hike is Bass Lake and/or Alamere Falls near Bolinas, CA
-My favorite fun group restaurant is The Ramp, San Francisco
-A new activity that I would like to try is Spring Snow Shoeing or Sea Kayaking
-A place I've always wanted to go is the Hangar One Distillery Tour
-I'd like to go see my favorite band, XXXX, at the Fillmore- who's in?

Hi All,

Were all blessed to live in the Bay Area- not too hot, not too cold and, so far, not too much rain this year!!

If you would be so kind, please take a few moments to:

-Submit somewhere that you have never been but would like to go (for now let's try to keep this mostly local- let's say no more than 2-3 hours from San Francisco)

or/and

- Submit a place that you know well and that you would like to share with others (again, let's try to keep this mostly local- no more than 2-3 hours from San Francisco)

You don't need to worry about being a full time event organizer or knowing enough to guide a group around like an expert tour guide. Just share some of your favorite places/activities that you would like to do with this Meetup group and we’ll get the ball rolling!

And, if you would like to organize an outing and lead an event, I will happily give you the ability to post your event and provide any assistance/guidance you might need.

Let's work together to create an active Meetup group that does activities and events that we would like to learn to lead and attend!!

Many thanks in advance for your participation! ~ Christopher Young

Dinner Impossible! Meet at the Ferry Building Farmer's Market where we peruse the season's bounty. We buy things that catch our attention or we have cravings for (you can get everything there - fresh produce, butcher, bakery, etc.) We walk through the beautiful waterfront to my loft in Mission Bay, and we make impromptu dinner out of our collective "loot". We'll end up with a dinner party! Have to limit attendance to 10 ppl.

Fun idea! I love to eat (I know, everyone in the Bay Area does) and I can cook--but I cook to eat :)

I am kind of new in all the area but i really would love to go to Tahoe ... for a skiing... I have been in south Tahoe once very short time and I have see picture of this beautiful place... I do not know if it could be a good idea to for one full day or over night a big group in a house and go for ski next day... and then come back to SF. So it could be one suggestion from me before the snow season ends!!! :)

If you review the website there are several cavern locations and each with different expeditions that vary in price, length of trip and maximum number of people. I'm game for any of them and since the drive is 3 hours each way plus at least 3 hours for the expedition I would be staying the night or camping for the weekend.

Tamara - I'm game for Zip Line and Caving. I agree with you since it is a long drive I like your idea of camping for the weekend.

I'd love to go rafting the American River before it gets too cold. It is about 2h away from SF. We can make this a day trip by selecting a trip of shorter duration, say, 4h. We could probably get a group discount if there are enough people interested. The water will be cold regardless of the weather. I'm in for it on Sunday, 11/11.

Hi Dewi, Your "Dinner Impossible" suggestion still sounds awesome! Did you want to choose a Farmer's Market Weekend to give it a try? I can give you Coordinator access privileges if this is something that you would like to sahre and facilitate!! Great Idea!!
