Get Acquainted Ride Through Western Sonoma County

  • This location is shown only to members

There will be a $5 admin fee for this ride.

This will be more of an easy sightseeing ride than anything else, and I will probably set the pace and distance based on the grp's ability - probably 22 miles, so if you're a beginner this is the one for you. The terrain will be mostly flat, though there will be one or two rolling hills.  We always wait at the top for all riders, so don't worry about your pace.

As usual we'll stop at a couple wineries for some tastings.  This will be a fun casual ride full of picturesque Sonoma County views.  This photo is very typical of what you'll see on this ride, and you'll probably want to bring your camera, as the colors will be in flaming bloom.  We'll pass vineyards, cornfields, cows, horses, and ride along the Santa Rosa Creek, where we'll likely see egrets and ducks. This will be a fun day of riding, vino, and maybe some bocce.  One of the wineries we'll stop at has a bocce court, which I've been known to frequent.

If you're into bocce and from this area, talk to me -I'm in a bocce league that is looking for players.

What To Bring:

Snacks, water, and a lunch.

Wear:  Sunscreen, layered clothing, your helmet.

I pack a few fruit bars, and a sandwich for lunch.

Fill your tires the day/eve before.
Have your bike tuned and in good shape.

A repair kit (optional, though always suggested).  I'll have a pump.

As always, your sense of humour is required!

This ride is being posted on 5 other Meetup sites and attendance will be limited 20 riders.  This will be a great way to meet new people and make friends.
