Thanksgiving Recovery Hike!

We'll meet at the Rock Springs Parking Area ~ at Pan Toll & Ridgecrest Bd.

Mt Tam is one of my favourite hiking spots and the trail back up Cataract is really sweet. It follows the creek and has plenty of falls along the section we'll be on.

This is a Moderate to strenuous hike, w/ roughly a 1250' elevation gain, so be sure to carb up for this one. I highly recommend a high carb lunch on the hike as well. I'll be having pasta the night before. (This hike might be considered strenuous depending on your condition.)

Game Plan:

We'll take Benstein Trail towards Potrero Meadow where we'll take our vino break. We'll continue from there along Kent Trail past Azalea Meadow, and have lunch either along High Marsh Trail or when we hit the creek at Cataract. We have several choices of lunch spots this time. From there we follow Cataract all the way out - my favourite section of this hike.

This is the day to get out and get some exercise, have some fun w/ our madcap hikers, drink some vino, and take in the georgeous sites of forest, creeks, and waterfalls on beautiful Mt. Tamalpias.

This will be about a 10 mile hike, filled w/ forest, adventure, vistas, vino, and waterfalls.

If that's not enough for you, I don't know what to suggest!

From Hwy 101 - Stimson Beach Exit, follow Shoreline/Hwy 1, Right on Panoramic Hwy, Right on Pan Toll which Tee's into Rock Springs parking area.

What to bring:

Good Hiking Boots/shoes

Layered clothing, hat, and sunscreen.

Vino/Snacks for our pre-lunch vino break. Energy bars are highly recommended.

Lunch (packed w/ carbs) and food to share (dried fruit/nuts, chips, dips, use your imagination.)

At least 1 liter of water (2 is better) Fill w/ 1/2 water & 1/2 ice.

Anything else you want to drink (beer, iced tea, etc.) You thought I was kidding? I always have a bottle of vino w/ me.
