Full Moon Hike

  • This location is shown only to members

On November 28th, the sun sets at 4:43 pm and the moon rises at 5:01 pm.

This will be a full moon hike we're we'll share dinner & vino, and enjoy the beautiful full moon and the moonlit landscapes.  I love being out during a full moon because of the way the landscape is lit and everything has such a unique feel during that time.  Don't know about you guys, but I always carry a couple silver bullets w/ me just in case.  Of course I've never actually been bitten by a werewolf before, but it sure doesn't hurt to be prepared (I was a Scout as a boy).  Not that there will be any music on the trail, but if I was to bring something it would definitely be Howlin' Wolf for this one.

    What To Bring:

VINO ~ A hike is not complete w/out vino, so let's start there. Bring the bottle of your choice - something nice of course!

FOOD ~ Dinner and snacks.  Skies the limit, just use your imagination.  Cheese and crackers, sandwiches, hot soup, hot tea?  Just bring enough to share, as that's part of the fun.

Flashlight, or headlamp. If someone could bring a lantern that would be really cool.   We want to see the trail and I don't want hikers stumbling off into the night never to be seen or heard from again!

A Blanket. We'll decide at the trailhead how many blankets we need.

Warm clothes, and decent shoes for walking/hiking.

There will be a $5 fun fee for this hike - thx!

From Hwy 101 take Hwy 12 East and when it hits the street, keep going straight about 2 miles 'till it Tees at Summerfield Dr.  Turn Right there and go 3 blocks and turn Left on Carissa, which you'll follow up the hill to the clearing and park there.

This hike is listed on other Meetup sites, so it will be an opportunity to make new friends.

Need I mention your sense of humour is required?

This will be a different, very fun, hike.  I mean, would I ever take you anywhere that's not fun?

I'm not much of a drinker, but otherwise it sounds awesome!
