Mt Burdell Hike

The last time we did this one was Dec 2011, and the views from above were fantastic!

This will about a 6 mile hike w/ an elevation gain of about 1200'.

Some may consider this strenuous, depending on your condition.  I rate it as moderate.

Yes, I know it's a late start, but I'm involved in a food giveaway for the poor in the a.m. so a later start is necessary.  Just bear w/ me.

Also posted here...

The Plan:

I call it fun on the trail!

We'll hike a bit, then somewhere out there w/ a nice view we'll take a vino/snack break, then see if we can't find some place near the top of the world (at least in the Novato area) and have our lunch a bit later.  There's a nice lookout where we might take lunch.

Any questions can be directed to some third party in The Philippines, India, Pakistan, or somewhere else where they handle problem solving and trouble shooting.  W/ my kindergarten education it's clearly over my head.

Hwy 101 to Novato off at San Marin Dr.

Head West on San Marin approx 2 miles and turn Right on San Andreas Dr.

Follow San Andreas to the top and park in the residential area.  We'll jump on the trail there.

What To Bring:

Good Hiking Boots/shoes

Layered clothing, hat, sunscreen.

At least 1 liter of water (Fill your bladder/bottles 1/2 way and refrigerate the night before, then top off w/ ice in the a.m. and you'll have chilled water all day.

Vino/snacks for our pre-lunch break during the hike

Food - lunch on the trail, and more food to share (dried fruit/nuts/seeds, chips, dips, salsa, deserts - be creative!)

Drinks - vino, beer, tea, lemonade, whatever wets your whistle.

If you've been on any of my hikes you know what to expect.   The vino is required to be a part of this hike... OK, not really, but it's always nice when the vino to hiker ratio is high!

$3 Fun fee

And as always, Your Sense of Humour is required!

I don't believe so, though I'm not comfortable w/ them on hikes. Hope you understand.
