DIY automated quant trading

The Quantopian team is thrilled to be back in the Bay Area this February - it's really, really cold in Boston in case you hadn't heard.

Join us Feb. 6th at the legendary Hacker Dojo in Mountain View -- Shout out to Lawrence Wong for hosting us! Check out his Bay Area Trading Systems Interest meetup group here:

Our agenda will include a demo and update on Quantopian's live trading pilot by Fawce, followed by an overview of several basic/DIY quant strategies that are relatively straightforward to build, backtest, forward test and deploy by Jess.

I wanted to attend BAAT on Thursday night but I was scheduled to present at the

The presentation I gave may be of interest to some of you.

Title: Use MADlib Logistic Regression to Predict SPY Tomorrow

The presentation was a simple demo of me loading SPY data from into a Postgres table.

Then I use Postgres windowing functions to create vectors and y-values.

Next I feed the vectors and y-values to MADlib Logistic Regression.

Will we have the opportunity to share what we're working on individually or is this mainly a speaker event?

Hi William, our usual format is to leave at least 30 minutes at the start and then whatever time is left after the scheduled presentations for open networking. It's pretty informal and I think most folks are very interested in connecting with peers and talking about what they are working on, looking to do or hoping to learn about. Hope you can join us! Hi, I'm an organizer for Bay Area Independent Traders () and I'm also currently developing an open source solution that brings Interactive Broker API to Node.js: I'd like to give a presentation on open source, event-driven solution to interacting with Interactive Brokers through Node.js. The addon is currently functional and I can give some demos at the talk. Presentation can be 1 hour or less.
Hands-on session will need 2 hours. Thanks.
