Opera at the Ballpark - Free Live Simulcast

Verdi's Aida 8:00 PM (2 hours, 40 minutes, including 1 intermission)
details and ticket reservations at-
http://sfopera.com/sp...

Let's gather and enjoy a night at the opera in baseball caps! Please note the following:
*Arrive early; field seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registering for early entry to the simulcast does not guarantee field seating. Your whole party must be present at the time of entry, because once the Giants have determined the field is full, the Portwalk Gate will be closed to further admittance and no more field seating wristbands will be issued. Remember to bring your barcoded confirmation printout for early entry. You may bring blankets (no lawn chairs) to sit on the field.*

Thus we must meet outside the the PORTWALK GATE (along the Marina side of the stadium), where we can exchange our barcoded printout for field seating wristbands. Please arrive by 6:30 PM as I will be entering at that time. You must reserve free tickets in advance (up to 4 may be reserved at once) at the website and bring your printout.

Let's carry blankets, warm wraps, and food according to these restrictions:
*Sealed plastic bottles and soft-sided juice containers are allowed in AT&T Park. Unsealed plastic bottles and soft-sided containers will be inspected and may be confiscated. Glass bottles and cans are not permitted in the ballpark. Alcoholic beverages (including non-alcoholic beer and wine) are not allowed to be brought into the park regardless of container. Paper or plastic grocery bags, purses, fanny packs, backpacks, lunch bags, diaper bags (backpack-style), soft-sided containers, handbags and briefcases are allowed into the ballpark as long as they do not exceed 16" x 16" x 8" in size. *

CONCESSIONS: Traditional baseball game concessions will be available, providing audiences the rare opportunity to eat hot dogs, peanuts and garlic fries while watching the opera.

You are on your own for driving. carpooling, and parking. Public transportation would be CalTrain which leaves at (10:40 PM if you leave early) or 12:01 AM heading to San Jose, or Bart (riders should exit at the Embarcadero Station and transfer to Muni Metro (N or T-Line/inbound) leaving for Daly City at 11:22 or 11:31 PM, 11:42 or 11:51 PM.

It's really hard to meet a group of strangers among crowds of up to 30,000 people. I'm surprised any of us managed to connect. The event itself was wonderful and you would have enjoyed it no matter who you found or where you sat. In future, I suggest people meet at the parking area or public transit station and travel together.
