World Affairs Council: Turkey at the Crossroads

"Recent protests and increasing authoritarian actions taken by Prime Minister Erdogan’s government have observers questioning Turkey’s current political leadership. The loss of over 300 miners in the country's biggest industrial disaster and the recent corruption allegations ... adds fuel to existing tensions between the government and Turkey's citizens.  Turkish political commentator and author Mustafa Akyol will discuss recent developments in Turkey and explain what they mean for the broader Muslim world."

Tickets are $15 for non-members.  Event starts at 7:00 pm, let's meet at 6:45 in the lobby.  I've bought my ticket already.

David, I arrived at 6:45 and took a seat because it was filling up. I did not see you or a Meetup sign either in the reception area or inside the lecture hall. I left as soon as the talk was over since I was driving back to Marin. Regardless, it was a very good conversation and I'm glad I went.

A very informative presentation. I was disappointed that all the RSVPs were no-shows.

I too am not available on Wed, so I hope you schedule another one of these events. I have been listening to the WAC events on NPR, but would like to attend in person too if possible. Enjoy the discussion!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
