Cavallo Point is located in Marin County near the Golden Gate Bridge at the old Fort Baker. We'll start here and join up with the Coastal Trail, which makes a steady climb of about 800 feet above the bay. We'll pause near the end of this out-and-back hike to take in one of the many spectacular views of San Francisco, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the bay.
Distance: About 6-7 miles
Duration: About 2-3 hours
Elevation change: About 800 feet
When we return, we may also take a short walk to explore the battery near the edge of the water, where you can learn some of the history of Fort Baker. We may also look for available seating at Farley Bar at the Cavallo Point Lodge.
