From Preacher to Humanist

Most of us were, probably, brought up in a religious tradition.  Those of us who identify as humanist or atheist have undergone a profound evolution of our worldview.  Tom Bergstrom will discuss his path from being a Catholic in his youth, to a preacher in a conservative church and finally to unbelief in a god.  Tom will tell us about some of his experiences that led him to become an atheist and humanist.  After telling us his story, Tom will invite others to share their experiences with religion and why they became atheists, humanists, agnostic or however they identify themselves today.

Great Conversation. I enjoyed the framing of religious thinking as a starting point that evolves into more self awareness and empathising with the troubling trasition to an independant way of thinking for yourself.

yeah, if there's a charge they need to let people know. i know toins of poor atheists who might go but if they get there and they have to decide on a meeting or lunch money, they get turned off.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
