San Francisco Atheists January Meeting

San Francisco Atheists January Meeting

'How Religion Led Me to Atheism'

To launch the new year, we present Lawrence Pratt, author of Dark Deception. Larry will discuss how his years as an active Mormon influenced the characters and themes of his novel, including the pressures to conform within a tribe, members' relationship to authority, and the consequences for those who leave.

Larry Pratt is a California native, Navy and Air Force veteran, and technical trainer and writer in Silicon Valley. He's also a published travel writer and photographer, and member of the San Francisco Bay Area Post-Mormons.

"Dark Deception is a thoroughly exciting and enjoyable read."
Some books will be available for sale and signing, or you can purchase in advance here.

Thanks Susan. He should be fine, in the end. I think it'll take a while. Poor boy was attacked by a dog with a very strong grip, and some 'issues.'

Yes, our meeting is free to attend. We do accept (and encourage) voluntary cash donations when we 'pass the hat' to help cover the cost of the room rental.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
