Sketch Fest debate on the existence of God

As many of you may know, SF Sketchfest is a two-week-long festival of comedy including sketch comedy, stand-up, and other forms. As part of this year's festival, atheist comedian Jamie Kilstein will debate the existence of god with a theist comedian, John Fugelsang. Let's show up with a strong audience presence of atheists to cheer on Jamie in what should be a fun and entertaining event.

Jamie Kilstein is also performing this Thursday (Jan 16) at the Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley. Many of us saw him perform at the Reason Rally in DC and know that he doesn't hold back when it comes to challenging religion.

Not so much debate as stand-up.

Thirded. I wasn't looking for scathing personal attacks but some disagreement would have been welcome.

Ultimately, the debate is not even possible, since one side boils down to "I have faith, so there!"

I have an extra ticket for anyone who wants it, no charge I'd just rather it not go to waste. You can respond here or email me directly. Can meet at la trappe or at theater before show.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and meeting those I haven't yet. If you come to La Trappe, look for me in my red Reason Rally t-shirt.

Seeing as Libby mentioned beer in her response, I should point out that this event also coincides with SF Beer week. I'll be going to La Trappe Cafe in North Beach (800 Greenwich) for an Anderson Valley Brewing tap takeover beforehand so if you feel like joining in before the comedy please feel free. I'll probably try to get there sometime between 5:00 and 6:00. Cheers!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
