This month Atheist Advocates of SF features Dr. Uta Grieshammer, Science Officer for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, speaking on The Promise of Stem Cells: Hope or Hype? Here is her summary of the talk:
"Did you know that without stem cells you would not be able to absorb any food, you wouldn't have any skin and there would be no blood coursing through your veins? Stem cells have captured the imagination of scientists and the public alike; they are raising hope in patient communities; they are causing controversies. But what really are stem cells? Where are they found? Are they already being used to cure diseases? Uta Grieshammer, PhD, a scientist with the state's stem cell agency, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, explores these questions and the progress being made toward new therapies based on stem cells."
Dr. Grieshammer gave this talk to the Atheist Community of San Jose and they loved it. Join us and see why.
