Beer Not God

Please join East Bay Atheists for Beer Not God, our monthly casual get-together to talk about current affairs (f#%$ing Catholic Supreme Court!), science, and beer. We'll be back at Luka's again this month, hopefully in the back room with the pool table but if not we'll be in the larger side room again. Luka's is located at the corner of W. Grand and Broadway in uptown Oakland, just a few blocks from the 19th St. BART station. Street parking is free after 6:00, and Luka's even has a small lot for patrons. Hope to see you there!

Actually, Corey, Albany Tap is about 1/2 mile from the El Cerrito Bart station. Still, a stiff walk, even though flat, along a rather uninteresting part of San Pablo.

I think we should consider going to the albany taproom next time, great food and beer

I like Albany Tap but it's nearly a mile from the closest BART station.

Eli's Mile High could fit on the porch, a bit downscale though.

We should meet more often! Two or three times a month or even establish an atheist hang out where people can go after work knowing there might be a secular person or two at the bar on any day, idk just thinking out loud.....or thinking on paper hahahahahahaha feel free to make suggestions

Grate time met the most interesting people and cough up with some previously known ones, the conversations were ranging from god to food to sex, everything was great except for some assholes blasting music,

The conversation was pleasant enough, but - small space, very few places to sit and a jukebox loud enough for the USGS to start sending email. Made good friends, when I could converse with them without shouting.

The back pool table room is not as good as the other side. I think we should set up a monthly schedule with the management so that we are in a disability accessible space, as well as having a waitstaff member come to us instead of making some of us ADA needing godless peeps go to the bar.

Going to have to cancel. It's been a long, hot day, and I just need to stay home for a bit...
    See you all next month!

Thanks for pointing this out. I have now edited the map linked to by Meetup as well.

if Bart doesn't have free parking I will have to ride my moped there and then drag around my ridiculous helmet :p so I'm debating if I should just ride without it I can't go past 30 mph anyhow

    May 13, 2014

    • David A.

      Helmets are NEVER ridiculous!

      1 · May 13, 2014

    • David D.

I don't know Alexey, no helmet is ridiculous if a pot hole bites the front tire of your moped and tosses you to the curb headfirst. At 30 MPH, your head will likely not hurt the concrete.

Note: The map link is incorrect. Someone should look into this so people (like me) not familiar with Oakland end up in the wrong place!

Yes thanks, it's been fixed above.

Let's bring this movement into real political action, the
Republicans have the declining Christian Right. The Democrats have Hilary Clinton and all the liberal progressive, Ideas.

Busy month! SkeptiCal to cap it off.
