Sean Faircloth of Dawkins Foundation Speaks on Attack of the Theocrats-SF

SeanFairclothFresh from the Reason Rally, Sean Faircloth,Director of Strategy & Policy for the US Richard Dawkins Foundation, will speak to Atheist Advocates of SF on the attack of the theocrats. Sean is not just a dynamic and thoughful speaker. He describes how our country is being besieged by theocrats, and then tells us how to fight back. Faircloth conceived of the Secular Decade plan, a specific strategic vision for resecularizing American government. It so impressed Richard Dawkins that he asked Sean to work for his Foundation.

Attend our meeting, see Sean in person, and find out why.

Meanwhile check out Sean's talk at the Reason Rally.

Copies of Sean's Attack of the Theocrats: How the Religious Right Harms Us All and What to Do About It will be for sale by cash or check. Sean will sign his books.

Faircloth is a dynamic, inspirational speaker who laid out his vision for a secular America with a contagious enthusiasm. We bought his book and look forward to seeing and hearing more.

Faircloth's talk was thought-provoking as it related to minimizing/eliminating the harm religions heap on their own (e.g., raising children with the notion that women must be subservient to their husbands). Made me realize that such an approach could have broader appeal, help create issue-related coalitions, and ultimately be more effective.

Less interesting speaker than I had hoped he would be.

    Byron,

I was in San Diego to see Dawkins, etc., myself. It was great. Hopefully some day we can host Dawkins and his Foundation heavies. All we need is member attendance and support in the form of donations. Remember that speakers like Sean are not free when they have to fly from the East Coast. Please help if you can when we pass the proverbial hat.
