Overnight backpacking trip to Mannings Flat camp in the Austin Creek State Recreational Area, near the Russian River/Guerneville area.
$5 per person. Please email me for details regarding payment via paypal.
We will meet at 9:30 Saturday morning at the Armstrong Redwoods Visitors Center, at the entrance to the park.
The group will hike either four or five miles to Mannings Flat Campground to spend the evening -- If the park has closed the Gilliam Creek Trail (five mile hike) due to high water levels at the creek crossings, we will take the four mile route, Austin Creek Trail, which is a service road.

The campsite sits next to a creek and has two tables, an outhouse, and a bear box. On Sunday we will head out late morning and be back at the cars by 1:30.
This trip is coordinated with the Chico-Oroville Outdoor Adventurers meetup group. There are several men and women signed up from that group. There are no carpools coming from the Bay area yet.
Directions to trailhead: From Highway 101, four miles north of Santa Rosa, exit on River Road and drive west approximately 16 miles to Guerneville. Turn north on Armstrong Woods Road and drive two miles to Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. We will meet here, then continue up the steep park road to a fork; the main park road continues to Bullfrog Pond, but you veer left to parking for the signed Gilliam Creek Trail.
If heavy rain is in the weekend forecast the trip will be canceled.
