The Power of Nothingness (read 8 times) or Seven Years in Tibet (read 7 times).
Lately I have been reading mostly mysteries and medical thrillers, and also enjoy travel adventure. All of these are light reading and take my mind off of "real life." However, when I find an interesting book on another topic I enjoy reading something different. For fiction, I like books that develop the characters so they seem complex, interesting, and real (not Hollywood). In nonfiction, I like topics having to do with medicine or with foreign cultures. An example of a nonfiction book I found interesting lately was The River (I read all 1100 pages). I cannot sustain my interest in politics or history, however.
I like to dance and to hike. I also love to cook. Lately I have been enjoying photography. I used to play and compose music, do some painting and calligraphy, have not done these recently but may return to them in the future. I also enjoy studying foreign languages.
I love to read, have lived in the East Bay for over 30 years. I am remaining anonymous for now, do not have a personal photo so please do not be offended if I display the results of a Halloween activity.
