Likely the last fishing opportunity this season. West Fork Cherry is now dry, but there is some trout locked up in large ponds, and it is HUNGRY. After some significant rainfall, the creek will start flowing and the fish will be gone for winter; hoping to get there before then.
The place is in Emigrant wilderness, ~1 hour hike in moderate pace, half way by trail, then on solid granite; back ~1.5 hours (uphill). Elevation around 7200', should be not too cold.
As of now, weather forecast looks sketchy: the date is TENTATIVE. As it gets nearer and clearer, the trip may be re-scheduled or cancelled altogether.
