  **IMPORTANT DETAILS**

Camp Info

-In order for us to have two sites, I had to change the date a week later. If I kept it at  09/17, there was only one site open & the 2nd spot was on a wait list & I didn't want us waiting around for a spot to open up.

- If 16 people do go, the camp site fee per person is only $4.13. You can honestly just give me $4 or $5, I really don't care :) I paid $33 each per site and the total is $66. I don't make money off these events and I would never charge any of you more than it really costs because I'm just not that way. Hence, I pasted below my receipt. Of course, the rate will be divided differently if not all 16 spots are taken.

-The sites will be assigned to us when we check in. I made a note that I want us to be close together. I hope they will honor this request. If not, the camp ground is small & we can just visit each other's camp sites :)

-Again, the max people is 16 and it is 2 cars per site.

 ATV Info

-If you weigh 130 lbs or less, the bike that is recommended for you is the Yamaha 125 @ $42. This is a flat rate and no tax. The regular price for this is $49.

-If you weigh 130 lbs or more, the bike that is recommended for you is the Honda 250-EX. The price is $66. This is a flat rate and no tax. The bike I ride is the Honda 250-Ex and I am below 130 lbs only because I have experience. If you are comfortable to ride a bigger bike, you are definitely welcome to choose what you prefer. The usual price for this bike is $73.

-We will walk there from our camp site a little earlier so we can pay and sign waivers. Our appointment time for signing waivers is at 12:30 PM and our ride time is 1:30 PM. So to clarify, ATV payments will be made via phone to reserve your spot by calling Arnie's ATV Rentals at [masked] & they will swipe your cards when we get there. The camp site will be paid to me.

Carpool Info

- Drivers for this trip as of right now is only George. Rea, Joenel, and Jasleen are riding with George. Does anyone else want to volunteer to drive?

-Drive time from San Jose to Pismo is 3 hrs and 20 minutes. We should leave here no later than 7:30am. We will get there at 10:50am. Check in at the camp site is 12 noon or they will give away our spots, so it is better that we arrive early. This will give us an hour+ for traffic or any late people going to the meeting spots.

-Once we get to the site, we will set up camp, relax, and then walk over to the ATV place.

**Check out this map! Camp site, Point A is so close to the ATV place, Point B. Obviously, so close to the beach, also! :)

I would like to invite you all for a fun weekend of riding ATV's on the Oceano Dunes & camping overnight. No experience necessary because they will give us a tutorial before we ride.

We will leave early in the morning to set up camp at Pismo State Beach Oceano Camp Grounds so our tents will be ready for us that evening. We will then walk about two minutes towards the beach to pick up our ATV's. We will ride for a couple of hours, have lunch in Downtown Pismo, & then spend the rest of the evening at our camp site. We will cook dinner at the camp site if we're up for it because we may be exhausted from the ATV'ing. You are welcome to bring whatever you want to cook because there are fire rings at the site. Here's a little secret - we actually ordered pizza last time we were there and they delivered so we just relaxed and not worry about dinner!! :)

This will be a really fun weekend & it's one of my favorite things to do! If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

Rea

Great group of very diverse people who attended. The sand dunes were a fabulous location for the ATV ride, we had a blast! The cookout was tasty, the games afterward fun!

It was such an awesome weekend! We fell off the bikes, got stuck in really deep dunes, got split up and LOST in the dunes & some were on their own, bodies are now sore, and even AFTER all of that, we had people still go for more ride time & also ATV'd the next day! Hey, what kind of Bucket Listers don't get hurt from time to time?! Thanks for such a wild weekend, everyone! See you all again soon!

I cancelled this even two weeks ago, because my friend came on a sudden biz trip from Europe. I just found out that if you made a reservation and didn't cancel by this week on Monday (closed Tue &Wed), they'll charge you $100 or the value of the rental, which my card now will be charged for and won't definitely get my thumbs up. So, if anyone made a reservation and cancelled this week, you are going to be out of luck too.

Hi, everyone! Because Tony was nice enough to get us a 3rd camp site, it means, we can have 6 cars. This is the final count. Joe will have his car, Tony, Chris, Jeanine,Will (George and Joseph are riding with him) and I will drive on my own. My car will be the 6th car. See you all there!

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hi, Chris! Of course, you can bring a guest. I believe you got my text response already! See you and your wife tomorrow!

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hi, Joseph! I will email you Will's address right now.

    September 23, 2011

  • Chris

@Rea, since there are only 11 people, do you mind if I bring a guest? I will drive separately as I'm transporting a bicycle to SLO; will figure out the parking somehow -- maybe an overflow parking area.

    September 23, 2011

  • Joe Kwan

Where do I go to meet up with Will?

    September 23, 2011

  • Joe Kwan

    I don't mind.

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hey guys! I don't really like changes especially when its last minute because it creates chaos and this is why every detail has been planned months ago. However, of course, if it does not make sense that we meet at my place, we can all meet at Will's. Will - can you message us your address? George, Chris, Joenel, Jasleen, and Joseph - are you guys okay to meet at Will's?

    September 23, 2011

  • George

Rea I agree with Will we should meet near his place it would be easier given it is on the way there. Let me know where you want to meet.

Rea: I am heading down this afternoon, probably heading to Santa Cruz, then take Highway 1 down the coast. There will probably be some seaside visits and somewhere to stay overnight, getting me to the Oceano campground tomorrow morning reasonably early. Looking forward!

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Not sure if all emails are coming your way, but this is the plan.

George is driving. His passengers are Joenel, Jasleen, and myself.

Chris and Joseph are riding with Will and the plan was everyone to meet at my place.Jeanine is riding on her own and will bring her own car.Tima and Joe are arriving their tonight. This equals to 4 cars and anyone else interested in carpooling will meet at my place.Overall, I told everyone to pack lightly. I hope this clears everything.Tony - are u meeting us

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

I just emailed you, Will about the plans and who is riding with who.

    September 23, 2011

  • will.i.am

@Rea - What time are were projected to leave the site and head back to town?

    September 23, 2011

  • will.i.am

@Rea - yes, that would be inefficient for me to go that way. I live off the 101 and Bernal. So, I haven't received any messages from anyone interested in carpooling with me yet...So my guess is that I am taking the SUV, but if we need more space for passengers, I will take the Van. As of now, I don't know who or what is going on or are we going to determine that somehow at your house?

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

I live off the 237 W, N 1st St exit. Ill message you my address so you can get an actual estimate of the distance

    September 23, 2011

  • will.i.am

I'm actually curious where your home is? As I'm totally South San Jose, and around my neighborhood has ample parking spaces...if you're really far off, I don't think it would be efficient for me to drive up there rather than people meet me in my neighborhood. Please e-mail your relative location or addy, thank you!

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

FYI - ATV place called and said its very cold there right now. Be sure to dress warmly :) Also, pls let me know if you need my address (to those who are carpooling)

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hi, Joseph! Will has spots open :) Meet us at my place tomorrow no later than 7:30am. Ill message you guys my address

    September 23, 2011

  • Joe Kwan

Hi Rea just read ur comment on there being only 1 car parking space left. So im lookin for a spot in someones carpool.

    September 23, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hi, Jeanine! I like eating healthy, so I'll try some of your veggie dish. Thanks so much for thinking of us!

    September 22, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

It sounds like we have a lot of wood now. I won't bring wood anymore. Lol! Ill bring buns and utensils, Will has condiments and some alcohol & bunch of grilling utensils,Jeanine has smores, Tima has chips, crackers, and dip.

    September 22, 2011

  • will.i.am

I also have plenty of wood to bring that we recently cut up :)

    September 21, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Carpool & Parking - We have 2 camp sites which can hold 4 cars. Will and George are driving. Tima and Joe will carpool together so that is 3 cars. Joseph,Chris, Jeanine, and Tony - just want to let you guys know, we would only have one more spot for parking. Will has open spots right now so please let me know what your plans are. I encourage us all to carpool.

    September 21, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

    Thanks, Jeanine!

    September 21, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

    Thanks, Tima!!

    September 20, 2011

  • Tima

I will bring salsa, crackers, dip!

    September 20, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

@Chris - Thanks for calling the ATV place! Will has volunteerd to drive so we now have two drivers. Depending if these remaining 6 spots fill up, we will need a 3rd driver. Thank you SO MUCH for volunteering if we need a 3rd driver, Chris!

    September 19, 2011

    September 19, 2011

  • will.i.am

@Rea - What does carpool situation look like at the moment? Where will people be meeting up to carpool? What are we expected to bring or what are we doing? So I know what I need to pack for this or bring to support the group =) Please let me know, or PM me and I can tell you what I have available. I remember you stating we had drivers earlier this or last month...is that still the case?

    September 19, 2011

  • will.i.am

@Rea - Just called and reserved (i'm sooo late I know...had fam emergency last week)

    September 19, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Hi, everyone! On Monday, I will get a list of everyone that has paid for their ATV. I will update info in regards to confirmation of our departure time, food info, and carpool arrangements. Looking forward to hanging out with you guys next week! Start looking for your camping gear ;)

I've done Oceano Beach dunes riding a week ago. Pay special attention to thread on rear wheels when you rent - you may spend most time digging your quad of the sand if it's very used.
I rode 400cc as 250 were out by the time I came. It's fine if you know how to use clutch.
    Lot's of fun!

    September 12, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

    @Will - Ok, sounds good! :)

    September 10, 2011

  • will.i.am

@Rea - I'm currently in MD and have been for the past week. Will call them Monday to make arrangements.

    September 9, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

    @George - I will :)

    September 8, 2011

  • George

Rea are you going to put up a list of who has made their payments?

    September 8, 2011

  • Rea Rivera

Just a friendly reminder to make your atv payments if you have rsvp'd yes. Lets make Sept 6 as the cut off. If by then, you haven't made the payment, we will open up the spots for people on the waiting list and to the rest of the group. Thanks, everyone!

I just called Connie :) She just said if we can call her during the weekdays because it is easier on her because she works the desk by herself. I also still need to call for my atv. I'm so excited about the plane event that I totally forgot about atv :)

I can relate to her in that case, and know that it's not easy being chipper when you are in constant pain. I don't doubt at all that she isn't a nice person, will be waiting for her call! Maybe a good idea for them would be to have an answering machine and response to requests later when they are not busy?
