Mike Stay, on his recent work on symmetric monoidal categories and concurrency

(the title is approximate)

Mike Stay will talk about some recent work he has been doing with Jamie Vicary (of the Oxford quantum group) dealing with the idea of a symmetric monoidal closed object in a compact closed bicategory and how that relates to concurrency.

Seems like I posted a response already. It was great. An eye-opener for me.

I can't attend this meetup because I have to attend another conference in my duty ><

Could you share your slides on the web?

I'd like to talk about how a SMC object in a compact closed bicategory gives a nice interpretation of the pi calculus; depending on how quickly we go through these slides, that part may be postponed until next time.
