Crime and Punishment, Jane Eyre, Anna Karenina, any Faulkner, Gone with the Wind (happy to see so many others mentioning this one), The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, Uncle Tom's Cabin, Chronicle of a Death Foretold. Regarding our classic fiction group, I use the term "classic" loosely and I guess it refers to any work up until 1950-60....maybe some of the English Lit majors can weigh in here. However, as I mentioned in my group description, this is a casual group and I am not opposed to throwing some modern or contemporary works into the mix!
The Idiot, The Brothers Karamazov, War and Peace, Of Human Bondage, Don Quixote, and Doctor Zhivago! I'd also love to read Hemingway, Evelyn Waugh, Oscar Wilde, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alexander Dumas, and many many more!
I'm Carissa and will be moving to the bay area from the east coast mid-Sept., hence the first meet-up in Oct. I've always loved to read but only recently discovered I have a passion for classic fiction.
