What are some of your favorite classic fiction reads?

My favorites change from month to month. Have you ever read any Stefan Zweig? His novels and short stories are what I'm reading now. Very good stuff. I find that I am reading women authors more frequently these days. Alice Munro is definitely one of my favorites. I love Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, but it's certainly not my favorite book. I guess my all-time favorite "book" is a play: Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

What classic fiction titles would you like to read?

How about W.G. Sebald's "The Rings of Saturn"? or Heinrich Boll's "Billiards at Half-Past Nine"? or Stefan Zweig's "Beware of Pity"?

Hi. I'm a retired computer programmer, volunteer at a nursing home, sometime composer of music, love to sing, mediocre chess player who once beat Walter Browne, voracious reader (your books are not safe when I come to visit).

What Lucymarie R. is saying about this Meetup Group

This is a really good group, lot's of avid participants, and well run by Carissa and Jeni. And the method used to chose the book to read could not be improved upon.
