Voila! Another Long-awaited All-In-One event @ the Legion!!:)

Hi there, What about spending an entire afternoon of live music, art exhibition & hike... forget not to say food? Voila! Another of our All-In-One events @ the Legion. So here comes our game plan. Partly i recycled it from last time i wrote the posting like this. Please read:
When & what:
11a: Docent tour @ the museum (Impressionist Paris: City of Light)
Please
meet me @ 10:45 by the Thinker
outside to secure your spot for the tour!!
12-2p: Concert by Classical Revolution (Not that we don't know who they are right?:) playing Debussy & more! Please see below for program details!
2-3p: Lunch/hangout for a coffee/lite snack at the Legion cafe in the basement
3-4p: Mini-hike around the Legion (the Lands End trail runs below the golf course @ the Lincoln Park; 2 mi. round trip; brisk moderate hike; SPECTACULAR view right across from Marin Headlands & of course the GG Bridge ahead of us!)
What to prep:
No fancy hiking gear needed on this hike; Just get yourself a pair of comfy shoes for walk (I think even Dansko will do!); extra jacket/windbreaker (Most likely it will be windy since facing the ocean); Oh ladies, if you are planning on wearing a dress/skirt for concert bring an extra pants; Optional water bottle if you think you'll get thirsty. I think it will be fun getting to do all-in-one under one price! Yup, a tix to the museum will cover it all. I think price ranges from $7-11. Please check online. Hopefully many of you can make it to this event.
*NOTE: Your
RSVP DEADLINE is 1p SAT(8/21)!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Concert program: Sunday August 22nd, we celebrate the birthday of Claude Debussy by dedicating the entire day to performing his music. On the program is the Syrinx for Solo Flute, Danses Sacree et Profane for harp and string quintet, the Trio for flute, harp, and viola, and the amazing String Quartet. We have a wonderful lineup of performers for this event, including Marina Roznitovsky, harp professor at the University of Nevada. The concert takes place in the Rodin Gallery and is free with museum admission. Optional: Later in the evening (8pm), we move to Revolution Cafe in the Mission District for more Debussy. On the docket will be his piano works, vocal music, and more string chamber music. [masked]nd Street, SF. All Debussy fans - let's Meetup for this day long celebration!

Great day. It was nice to have it so organized. We were able to get a docent tour, music, lunch and a hike into one day. My kind of day...

Judith: i wished everyone was introduced to one another initially, but it didn't happen since ppl arrived in different time, and also i didn't want our ppl to lose spot for the docent tour so i did rush them to get inside museum as soon as i checked in w/ them. However, sticking to our plan we did have time to chat w/ each other @ our post-meetup down @ the cafe. Plus on our hike. i came upstairs to look for ppl incl. you & few others while our group was lined up for food ordering. Thanx!:)

Had fun & enjoyed meeting some more members of our group. Liked everything, maybe esp. the art. I want to go back to see the rest of the exhibit since we didn't have time to see the whole thing by the time the concert started. It was a beautiful day in SF!

Glorious music. Debussey wouldn't like me to say this but he and Mozart excell in knockout blended and layered sounds.

So, here is my composite feedback for today's event:1)Museum tour: Lucikly the docent tour allowed a lot more than their usu. max of 25 ppl, but i think it was quite crowded. Thanx for patiently sticking to our theme despite that!:)

    HI Erika,

Take it away Erika, sounds great, I won't be there, only in spirit.
I have to be in Vancouver that day, your Idea is wonderful, the restaurant at the Legion is also a good choice. Erika, you could also play a round of Golf. LOL. I wish I could be there, I grew up just a block and 1/2 away, been going to concerts there since I was 3, on my own!
    Peace,
    Robert

Robert: What about making this occasion to be like all-in-one? Done it before, and was worth it!! Basically we meet for quick docent tour around 11. Then music @ noon. It will be followed by a nice brisk hike around the Lands End (real low-key but spectacular view!). Post-meetup @ one of the restaurants near there in Richmond district. i'd like to co-host if u r ok w/ it!:)
