Subject: [hiking-647] Kayaking Final Info - by request

Greetings All,

I promised not to send another email since I already out the final email complete with last tips. However, I was asked to send a final email again to the group! Some of the people who joined more recently have, perhaps, not received additional emails that the rest of us have seen.

First, please look at the web site's event page for the kayaking trip. That should answer most of your questions (i.e., time of arrival, items provided by Kayak Connection, their phone number and address, etc). I suggest you consider bringing water and light sandwiches, energy bars, etc. Once you get into your kayak, you will not have an opportunity to leave and eat or use a restroom.

Please give yourself plenty of time for arrival. Most of us are leaving by 10 a.m. from the Bay Area. If you are picking up multiple people or stopping at Safeway while en route, plan accordingly. There is an outdoor restroom at Kayak Connection.

Items provided include the wet suit, life jacket, paddle, kayak and a boat skirt. If you don't want a wet suit, you should bring a change of clothes as sometimes the kayak is wet inside. Larry provides a mini-lesson before we get to the water, so don't worry if you're rusty. If you are bringing your own kayak, go to the office and they will direct you as to where to launch your kayak. Then, come around and join us so we can head out as a group. (Again, $10 for the wet suit rental IF you are bringing your own kayak.)

Finally, the dinner is at Phil's. Whether you do kayaking "one way" and shuttle back, or if you kayak both ways, it doesn't matter. We will plan to gather around 5-5:30 p.m. as a group. Most of us will need to change and rinse off wet items. It takes a few minutes to get the kayaks secured once we arrive back at the docks. Phil's is only 1.5 miles away from Kayak Connection. Meals average about $20/ea and most beverages include free refills!

Those who are tired of my emails, my apologies. To those who said nice things about me as a leader and organizer - many thanks!

The weather will be ah-MAA-zing! I have been looking forward to this trip for nearly three months - since our last trip there! Bring your cameras, your energy and your appetites. This day will leave you smiling for many, many weeks to come!

C U there!

Kind regards,

Nash
