Film and Business Networking Event 11/18; A Few More Early Bird Tickets Available to Nov. 8. We now have 5 Additional Early Bird Half-Price Tickets for $5, since we ended sales for the Suicide Party fans. Thereafter tickets are $10 in advance; $15 at the door, space available, since tickets are limited to 60 attendees, and our last event was a near sell-out. As noted before, the RSVPs here don’t count as tickets to the event, which will be $15 at the door, unless you have already gotten your ticket. Plus there will be a raffle for about $50 in prizes for those with advance tickets The event will be at the SF School of Digital Filmmaking, 925 Mission, San Francisco. Tickets at https://shortfilmsandbusinessnetworkingparty.eventbrite.com. We will have a list of paid attendees from Eventbrite at the door, like last time. Come for networking with snacks and beverages from 6:30-7 before the program and stay for more networking from 8:30-9:00 p.m. All different films and 2 or 3 guest presenters with short films. I’m opening up invites to Meetup groups first, and later this week invites will go out to about 4000 other members of the Bay Area film and business communities. So get your tickets now while they are still available.
Next Film Exchange in December. Because of the Thanksgiving holidays, the next Film Exchange will be in December, probably the 4th or 11th, depending on what else is going on. Get and give feedback on whatever you are working on – a script, new idea, DVD of your latest projects, or ask questions about the film industry. Or just come to see what others are doing and give feedback. No charge since this is a group for sharing ideas. More details in about two weeks.
Crowdfunding Networking Party, Workshop, and Pitch Session. Save the dates – Thursday, Dec. 5th for a free party from 7-9 to introduce the Crowdfunding Film Society http://crowdfundfilmsociety.com, and its San Francisco Chapter http://www.meetup.com/CrowdfundingFilm. I have been appointed the co-chair of the SF Chapter. Then on the 6th, from 10-4 p.m. there will be a program with speakers on crowdfunding, followed by a pitch to select films to be featured in the Film Society’s showcase http://crowdfundfilmsociety.com/category/film to be promoted nationally. My own Suicide Party film will be one of the films included in this showcase, and I’ll be launching another IndieGoGo campaign featuring the director and actors with multiple film credits listed on IMDB. The first campaign helped me interest this director and actors and take this project to the next level. More details about all of this to follow in a week or two.
