Crowdfunding Campaign Just Launched - Features Director/Lead Actors with 30+ Feature Film Credits. Exciting news. As a result of my first Suicide Party crowdfunding campaign, I got a team together – a director and two lead actors – with over 30 feature films and connections with distributors. So the new campaign includes them and our goal is only $15,000 to match the contributors from 3 investors. It’s an entertaining, suspenseful film which raises important social issues. It’s the story of a once successful businessman about to lose everything, who decides to hold a Suicide Party with the help of his friends. If he can raise enough to save his house and get back on his feet, he’ll live; if not, he’ll end it all, leading to a media frenzy and unexpected results. The film has gotten interest from several directors, so the plan is to film this first one as the Suicide Party Project using a found footage approach like The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity and film it in Texas, where the lead actor, who is also a successful business man, lives. Then, a second version -- The Suicide Party – will be filmed by an L.A. director as a dark comedy. Finally, we will film the original script, now called Suicide Party: The Reckoning, in the Bay Area in a documentary style. Eventually we plan a Suicide Party Film Festival featuring the different versions. So we invite you to join the party. It should be an exciting ride, with lots of great perks and opportunities to attend special events, participate in the film, and get IMDB credits. Plus there will be opportunities to learn about crowdfunding techniques for your own campaign. The link to participate is at www.indiegogo.com/projects/suicide-party. And you can get half-price tickets to our party Nov. 18 and future parties.
Next Film Exchange in December. Because of the Thanksgiving holidays, the next Film Exchange will be in December, probably the 4th or 11th, depending on what else is going on. Get and give feedback on whatever you are working on – a script, new idea, DVD of your latest projects, or ask questions about the film industry. Or just come to see what others are doing and give feedback. No charge since this is a group for sharing ideas. More details in about two weeks.
