Lake Del Valle fishing

Since the Tournament is canceled, we will just be fishing for fun. If you have never fished Del Valle before you are in for a treat. The area is beautiful and full of wild life. We are very far away from traffic so it's pretty quiet for the most part. Cell phone reception is very minimal, so just plan on meeting the main group on the right side of the marina/last dock and then go from there. Trout fishing is usually better on the left side of the marina, but you have better chances of catching different types of fish from the right, like a 40 pound stripped bass!

If you do not have any equipment, please just let us know ahead of time, as a lot of us have extra equipment and tackle. Feel free to bring the family and pets. There is plenty of room to roam and spread out. This is typical beginer fishing 101 and fun for everyone. See you soon!

$6 to park, $5 fishing fee at the gate. Please remember to get your CA state fishing license.

Serene and I had a great time at Lake Del Valle. Even though we didn't catch anything (our fault because we went late), the scenery was beautiful and the company was great.

Good half day of fishing, it got windy and the bite died down after noon. Good to see those of you who could make it.

I am running about 15-20 min late. If I don't see the group my the marina, I will walk the shore right of the marina.

Is there any chance I could hitch a ride with someone? (I live near Chinatown in Oakland). I'd be happy to pay for gas and lend you a fly-rod for the day!

Best I could do is take you from Newark. Probably leave my place around 615am.

Poles rigged, alarm set, see you tomorrow. Remember right side of the marina past the last dock. Come at any time we will be there all day, but earlier is always better. Dress in layers, it's always cold in the morning. I have extra bait and poles, but there is also a well stocked bait shop as too. Should be a little windy but very nice day. Bring sunscreen.

I just confirmed this on the website, the tournament is cancled. However, we should all still go and have fun. Let's all fish to the right of the marina. Please feel free to bring your kids, there is room for everyone and we have extra poles.
