Investigation at Shinn House in Fremont

Paranormal Investigation for members only (no guests allowed and no one under the age of 18)

Cost - $55.00 per person (payable at time of RSVP)

This location has never been investigated before. We will have 6 hours to investigate 2 floors, a basement and attic. The house was built in 1876 and is approximately 7,000 Sq. ft. including the attic and basement.

We will be separated into 2 groups of 6. Please do not wear any perfume, cologne or scented lotions - as it makes it hard to determine phantom smells. Please feel free to bring any equipment except for Ouija boards and headlamp style flashlights. You can bring food and drinks that can be left in the back room, which will be our setup area. There is a refrigerator and microwave available.

Some History:

This is the very first location where I got an awesome picture of a giant orb during a daytime tour. It was back in May 2011. The photo is posted under that event, so check it out if you have time.

There have been several deaths in the house. Most of them just because people back in that time period died at home. There was one tragic death at the house, a young girl (I believe a niece of the family) who was not allowed to attend a party given in the garden. She went up to the attic and was leaning out of the window watching the party and fell to her death. Another family member drowned, at the age of 82, while taking his daily swim in the nearby creek.

All of the family members that were buried on the property were relocated due to the creek flooding. They were moved to Mountain View cemetery in Oakland.

The following are just two places where you can find some history and information.

A possible EVP or a word that my DVR picked up that was said by a group of humans guys on the deck on the other side of the house?

Great investigation with great people. The Shinn House is very beautiful and our group, Team Red, had many experiences. I thought the "prickly" feelings on my fingers, hands, and arms in one particular corner of the basement was interesting. Other investigators felt something like energy in the same area. I also felt light touches on my face periodically in the basement. I enjoyed the entire night. Thanks to Laura and all the investigators that make these events so much fun!

Sorry I didn't post sooner, but I was out today doing a walkthrough for an upcoming investigation.
Thank you to all who particiapted in last nights investigation at the Shinn House. Team Red and Team Blue (created on a poker chip draw...lol) set out and about throughout the house. I was part of Team Red...I must say an awesome team...we had some really great activity in the basement with the "little boy" running around setting off multiple rempods and flashlights and touching and tugging on us. All throughout the house we had great evp's, great flashlight play, great dowsing rod sessions and even what seemed to be Barry White singing through the spirit box in the attic. Once again I am impressed with the professionalism and passion of the people who sign up for these investigations. We definitely have alot of people in this group with "special abilities" and a love of communicating with spirits. Thanks again everyone and see you soon.
    On to the next......

Apparently I'm color blind too Debbie. As much as I'm sure Team Red was awesome and possibly "phenomenal", Team Blue was out of this world and "spectacular".

Got a "phenomenal" (word of the night for my team) photo of a face in the dinning room. Luckily I took more than one photo and it only appears in one. It is a creepy man. I knew there was something in that dinning room. So excited to get something more "phenomenal" than an orb. Great team!! But frankly you guys are all awesome to hang out with. I will post the photos to Facebook since I can't get them on meetup. Haven't even started reviewing EVPs. So many Spirits.....so little time.

The dining room is where I felt someone when we were walking through before the investigation a few weeks ago. I said "there's someone in here" and I got an evp of a man saying "you just tripped on a spirit" O_o

Wow, what a location! Chris did a great job of leading Team Red and we experienced a lot of different activity throughout the house. My group was fun and lively (the Geek Squad). It was quite a sight for me to see the spirits answering our questions using my flashlight! I can't wait to go over my recordings--video and audio this time! The interior of the Shinn House is absolutely beautiful and it is taken care of by the volunteers. I look forward to returning to this location in the future.

Great night. Thanks to my group who had great energy. We got constant evps, flashlight responses & a good number of creepy feelings & being touched in the basement. Very active location & the highlight was Jim & I both seeing the same black shadow outside the parlor area. Many of our questions were answered so I'm looking forward to hearing the evidence. It was a fun night with lots of laughs, many at Jim's expense lol. Sorry Jim, thanks for being a good sport:) Thanks to my group for the awesome energy, great questions & creativity. Team red rocked!!!!.

Another great investigation. The basement had crazy flashlight and rempod play especially when "little boy" was said..the honeymoon suite proved to be good with many evp's. The gift shop room produced 360 degree dowsing rods and and in the attic, we learned that our docent Joan has caught someone'eye. Food was in abundance and thank you Joan and Barbara for making the sandwiches. I still have not figured out who won the wrestling match from the red team. It appears that both teams had lots of actvity, but the blue team still rules! Maybe one day i will get to investigate with Jim.

Those are great links for more info. I see that there's an arboretum on the grounds. Will we have access to that during the investigation? I am considering going a few hours earlier to roam around the grounds if I can and see if I pick up anything outside. It would be great to have some/all of you join me if I do it.

I've been to this site for a daytime field trip. Actually took my little ones (who are now teenagers) and their girlscout troop there many years ago. We had our lunch in the arboretum and all the grounds around the house are open and easy to roam, so you I don't expect you'd have any trouble looking around a couple hours early, Ann. This will be my first actual ghosthunt. I am super excited. I've been in a lot of old houses, but this one definitely seemed to have a certain special vibe when I was there. A lot of living went on in that house, and it seems much feeling, or more, is still attached. Thanks so much for setting this up, Laura!
