I've always had a fascination with the paranormal whether it be ghosts, ufo's, bigfoot, etc. I studied Anthropology in college to see if I could find answers to some of these questions, but science really comes up short. I definitely believe in ghosts and I'm really interested in investigating more about them. I have lots of unanswered questions.
The only time I think I saw a ghost was when I woke up out of a dead sleep and saw a blueish tinged lady in victorian clothes walk down a staircase and then disappear. I was sleeping on a couch in an old SF Victorian house and I've always sort of discounted my sighting because I was asleep and then woke up. But I was talking to another member of the group and she told me that your brain is more receptive to phenomena when you're asleep or close to sleep or in that alpha state. I know that I woke up and saw this thing - I wasn't dreaming. It seems like it was probably a residual because it didn't interact with me at all.
I've been investigating with my wife for about two years now. We focus on audio evidence - we've always been really good at getting EVP's. We have a Zoom H6, and a bunch of other recorders. My wife has about 6 ghost boxes (an Andy's box, Frank's box, white box, shack hack, RT-EVP, & PSB7) and we use those a lot and programs like Echovox, Echovox-R, Sono X10, i-ovilus. My wife's EVP evidence page is on Soundcloud at: https://soundcloud.com/marcy-johnston Some of our favorite places to investigate are at the Meek Mansion & McConaghy estate in Hayward, the Johnston House in Half Moon Bay, Rengstorff House in Mt. View, the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Glass House in Fremont, Lathrop House in Redwood City, Pardee House, and Cohen-Bray House in Oakland, Patterson House in Fremont, City Hotel, Fallon Hotel and all of Columbia State Park, Bodie State Park, St. George Hotel in Volcano, Woodside Store in Woodside, the USS Hornet in Alameda, & the Point Sur Lighthouse.
I'm really interested to see what kind of evidence we can gather and to get a greater understanding of what happens after death.
I guess I'm a somewhat experienced investigator at this point. I've been doing it for about 2 years, and there's rarely a weekend that goes by without us doing a little investigating.
