Cold Process Soap Demonstration

  • Needs a date

  • This location is shown only to members

  • An invitation to current members :
I need to get motivated in making more CP soap for the Holidays and some of you expressed an interest in learning to make CP soap. I would demonstrate how I make soap and you can come and check it out and if I am comfortable with you handling lye -I can walk you though making a small batch yourself.
I am not a teacher or instructor just a gal that loves making stuff so with that as the spirit, I invite you to come and see!
I can't put a firm date yet - I need to go pick up some oils first and then infuse (herbal infusion) it first but several sessions in October most likely and on short notice too.
If interested, just RSVP and I'll send you an email to let you know I'll be soaping in the studio! I will invite one "newbie" at a time - so I can watch you if you do make soap.

Another thought, if you are familiar with soapmaking and have made soap and are interested in working on more advanced color  design techniques  - let me know. We could do session on practicing design techniques.

Hey Soaperinas ! must be in my experimenting phase because I melted down some soap scraps i had laying around from the cupcakes (which came out great for my first time), and added excess water -along with lavender & vanilla EO- in to get my version of a thick liquid shampoo. it worked wonders as a body wash& shampoo. the extra water only made the suds stronger! the water of course wanted to evaporate out but had i added a little extra it would have been quite an official experiment. Just letting the group know of my soaping adventures!

I have made soap before and am VERY interested in new design techniques. I recently purchased some icing piping sets & have been experimenting with soap cupcakes. Also, i have came up with a way to color soap with matcha green tea powder finally! cant wait to try it out.

Krechona, good luck this time! I haven't tried the green tea again, but been doing some swirl techniques. How did it go with the cupcakes soap? Haven't tried cupcakes yet, but soon. I'm wondering if anyone would like to swap each other soaps to try..Krechina...anyone..? :)

Hey Puji , Sorry for the late reply . but I'd love to . Although Idid cold process a long time ago, I'd like to start back at the beginning. My only bad Saturday in October is Oct 11- This date not good for me.

You can also try adding your Matcha (and a little less of it) at the end of hot process, which is how I would handle condensed goat milk or goat milk yogurt. They both tend to go brown if not timed properly in cold process.

The Matcha may still go brown but possibly less brown :-)

Hope I followed the instructions as you intended. Submitted an RSVP, although definite "yes" would depend on the day/time. Would love to look over your shoulder while you work your soap magic. Right now (through December) my general availability is Saturdays between 3:00 and 5:00 or (even better) Sundays before 3:00 p.m.
