First hike hosted by Karen Sapper - Rock Springs Trailhead, Mt. Tamalpais

Here is the front porch of the West Point Inn, built in 1904             and still housing guests today. This hike is approx. 5 miles               with a 600' elevation change. A moderate, pleasant hike,                 3.5 hrs or so, with a lunch break at the Inn.                                   (Bring a bagged lunch, and plenty of water).

The vistas from the side porch are quite stunning;                            good opportunity for a few lovely photos.

Lovely! Thanks to Karen for understanding the traffic situation and waiting - was delighted to see you all still at the trailhead when I arrived! Karen is also very well versed in the history of the area as well as plant life etc. which added an interesting and welcome component to the event.

I would love some details too. When do we plan on returning? How far and strenuous? Where to meet? Thanks

Looking forward to it but live in the East Bay and not a regular Marin hiker, so I have no idea how to get there. Are we meeting at that West Point Inn? Because I can google that.
