!iT Jeans kicked off its "G.I.F.T. Movement"- which stands for "Generate your style. Inspire new trends. Find value. Transform you and your friends"-on March 20th, when Song and her team brought the !iT Jeans Hope RV to downtown Los Angeles during the Fall '09 Los Angeles Fashion Market. !iT Jeans is hoping to roll out other programs based on the G.I.F.T. Movement. The company is currently looking at ways it can help families and young professionals affected by the financial crisis.
"In times like this, you need to work together as a community to help others in need, to be able to share information, to be able to inspire others. That's a gift in itself," states Kimmy Song, !iT Jeans CEO. !iT Jeans will be driving their G.I.F.T. Movement Hope RV to the "Creating your Consulting Career" Pink Slip Party.
This event will also focus around the theme of "Creating your Consulting Career", which simply put, means how to focus your job search efforts on consulting positions instead of permanent positions. With companies still very reluctant to add permanent headcount because of the uncertain economy, most employers are now focusing 100% of their efforts on hiring contractors. We'll be providing tips and information as to how you can tailor your job search to match how companies are managing their hiring process through consultants, how you can market yourself to potential clients, etc.
We look forward to seeing you on June 9th!
Edwin, my two cents - if your not making money or solid leads from any events. Don't do it. Generally, people are good people, but in times of despair, joblessness - don't think that attitude will always be in the upswing...expect the a few rotten apples whom are there to drink away their problems and take it out on those who are trying to help them.

I'm so tired of people complaining. We are trying to do something special to create a community of people helping each other out. We dont get paid for these events. This is suppose to be community based and this community should act like a community. We convinced a company to give the unemployed gifts and some of the members did not appreciate the gesture.
Tell me what YOU are doing to help the economy? I am trying to help you and you bash my efforts? What does the community think?
