The Hobos ;We play with vocals, guitar, accordion, banjo, bass and percussion and have been said by The Windmill venue in London, which was voted the third best music venue in London, to "produce some of the sweetest sounds out of South London".  UK Music Jobs compared us to Laura Marling and Beth Orton, saying "These Brixton-based musicians offer up twinkling guitars and a folksy storytelling charm that seems miles away from South London. Their first EP was released earlier this year, and features four fantastic pieces of acoustic musings and comforting melodies."

Aireene I play a mix of blues, folk and gospel on tenor ukulele and guitar, but the core is in the storytelling, and down to earth vocals inspired by sounds from the South and growing up to my uncles' Filipino folk guitar fingerpicking. “Espiritu’s penchant for songs that sound like they came off a 78 rpm record, listeners will be swept away.”

By invitation only. RSVP to [masked]

Fantastic! I loved the unusual sounds of this group. Beautiful voices. Incredible musicianship. It was so fun to sit in the first row and watch the fingers flying! (And, in the case of the drummer, the foot pedal pumping!) Thank you, too, for singing the best Happy Birthday song to my sister, Karyn!

Sounds like fun. I'm bringing my sister as her birthday present. Think they might do a happy birthday interlude to surprise her?

My sister's name is Karyn. It would be a great delight if you surprised her with a birthday song! But no biggie if it doesn't fit into your plans!!!! Looking forward to tonight!

SYLA Presents What a show! Aireene, Beechie, Tiago and Amy - you guys were fantastic! Your music blends beautifully. I only wish that I could have been in the room to see - you had record capacity of 55 folks! And we raised $70 for the Raise The Roof campaign. Thanks to Aireene, the Hobos and everyone who came out to support live music!
