Solstice: awesome female vocal ensemble

Solstice first performed at Rose Avenue Acoustic Delights three years ago, and the people who were there have still not stopped talking about how amazing the concert was. So it’s time for us to bring Solstice back and introduce these seven remarkable women to a larger audience.

Solstice is an a cappella ensemble specializing in music written by women or for women’s voices. Their repertoire encompasses world, classical, pop, jazz, and other genres. Bay Area audiences have seen them at the Freight and Salvage, La Peña, the San Francisco Community Music Center, Music on the Hill, Trinity Chamber Concerts, and Villa Montalvo. The group was awarded first place at the 2007 San Francisco Regional Harmony Sweepstakes and ranked third in that year’s Harmony Sweepstakes National Competition.

“We love this group! Complex, difficult harmonies, well- chosen, rarely-heard selections, sung with spirit and joy.” —Primarily A Cappella

“The eclectic and joyful mix of a cappella music that’s a hallmark of every Solstice performance keeps bringing audiences back for more.” —Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival

$20 in advance, $25 at the door
(All proceeds go to the musicians)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
