How did you become interested in International Development?

For several years, I was pondering over the wisdom, value, and practical impact of my own involvement in technology and management to society, just to come up empty. Since then, I have also been wondering, “what if we use the same skills to empower the economics of global poverty?” Thus not fully convinced with the value of my personal impact on technology and management efforts, I decided to say good-bye to the corporate world in 2010”. Through my extensive engagement with various leaders in social world, I have been able understand some of fundamental challenges where professional like us can make a meaningful contribution, create a wonderful sustainable model like “Aravind Eye” and still have an enjoyment. Our result is Ektta, a new and different kind of social enterprise non-profit. Ektta is a catalyst of a positive change with an initial focus on India and later in other developing countries helping to connect, the unconnected by unlocking a power of becoming self-reliant.
