The San Francisco Jewish Film Festival will be showing some episodes from Season 4 of the Israeli TV series, "Arab Labor." Wikipedia says, "The series, whose title in colloquial Hebrew carries the implication of "shoddy or second-rate work", focuses on the family and work situations of Amjad, an Arab-Israeli journalist. Much of the comedy is derived from the paradox of Amjad's love-hate relationship with his Arab identity and his simultaneous wish to integrate comfortably into Israeli society." I think of it as the Israeli equivalent of "The Jeffersons," but with a sharper edge.
The festival will show "Arab Labor: Season 4" at the Cinearts theater in Palo Alto on Tuesday, August 6, at 6:05 p.m.
Arab Labor: Season 4
I know that's an awkward time of day, so you might want to get yourself fed before the movie. Let's meet in front of the theater at 5:45 p.m. After the movie, we'll go out for coffee or a snack.
The Cinearts theater is located in Palo Alto Square, which is a cluster of office buildings. It's at 3000 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, which is at the southwest corner of El Camino Real and Page Mill Road when you assume that El Camino runs north-south.
