KNIME Meetup - Peninsula

This is the second meetup of the Bay Area KNIME Users - it will feature two KNIME users from quite diverse domains: Dean Abbott and Man-Ling Lee from Genentech. From the KNIME side, Thomas Gabriel will talk about new features coming up in KNIME 2.9.

For those of you who missed it during our first bay area meetup: we will again do a 45min KNIME crash course during the hour before the regular meetup (6-7pm). The real thing starts at 7pm. We'll have plenty of time for networking over small bites and drinks!

And, for those of you wanted to meet in the Peninsula: I hope you are happy with the location :-)

Please register here, on eventbrite, or just send us an email.

Agenda:

6pm: KNIME Crash Course for Beginners

6:45pm: Networking

7pm: Official start & presentations by
- Man-Ling Lee: KNIME and Command Line Tools - The Best of Two Worlds
- Dean Abbott: Web Analytics and Behavioral Marketing from the Trenches
- Thomas Gabriel (KNIME, Zurich): What's Cooking in KNIME Labs

~8pm: Reception and Networking

I wish I could have come to the meetup. From San Mateo to Sunnyvale 101 is a no-mans-land from 4p to 730p.

I am glad to hear it was interesting for the well-seasoned KNIME users, too...

Will the 'crash course' be videotaped for people who are unable to attend?

We are not planning on videotaping it (mainly for lack of recording equipment but also because I tend to make too many bad jokes live) - but there is lots of nice introductory material available in our "learning hub" (http://www.knime.org/...) - including videos and tutorials. If you send me a private note after the event I can send you the code for the free beginners guide as well...

Looking forward to it! I'm an evangelist everywhere I go, especially to programmers who know nothing about data analysis.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
