Kids Oriented Ride - Bay Trail - Ralston/Marine Pkwy to Curiosity Point

A ride oriented around kids but beginners are welcome also. We will ride the Bay Trail from Oracle up to Curiosity Point and back. A pancake flat, car free route that is 9 miles out and back for a total of 18 stress free miles. Bring a lunch to eat at the turn around point. Meet at the parking area across from Oracle at the intersection of Marine Parkway and Oracle Parkway.

The route and start location: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2139471

I am guessing 3 hrs - 4 hrs with lunch and depending on the number of stops made and the wind (reason for the earlier start). There are plenty of opportunities to use the facilities and obtain water along the route.

10 people showed up for a fun but cool ride along the bay. The sun poked out and warmed us up for about 10 minutes on the way back before retreating behind the clouds for the rest of the day. We had never investigated the sculptures along the top of the old dump in Foster City. The kids loved the sounding wall one. The hill took the pancake flatness out of the ride and provided a nice view. I never knew there were so many shell remnants in the bay. They were walking on shells while the tide was out.

Next ride will probably be the southern end of the Bay trail towards SJ.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
