Goat Rock (TR and bouldering)

Planning to spend a leisurely afternoon of bouldering, top-roping and sunset photo-taking at the appropriately-named Sunset Boulders (aka Goat Rock). The climbing is easy to moderate. If you're new to outdoor climbing this is a nice place to start. Don't feel obligated to stay for the photography part at the end, but by all means bring your camera and join me.

Bring water and something to eat for a late lunch / snack. It'll probably be warm, but it can get windy there sometimes too so dress accordingly.

Equipment:

If you have a crash pad, please bring it. If you have a rope and anchoring gear, please let me know when you RSVP. Obviously, don't forget your rock shoes and harness!

Hey guys I'm sorry I got a flat tire :( I don't think I can make it. Sigh this sucks.

I have a crashpad and an anchor.

How are we set for rope? The link above says routes are 30 ft, so I assume a 35m rope would do. I'll bring one unless I hear that we're already set.

Hi guys! Looking forward to this Sunday. It seems like most people are coming from SF. As parking is limited, it would be great if carpools could be arranged. Feel free to use the board to offer or request rides. I can take 1 or 2 people who are willing to meet me at Rockridge BART, but I might be grabbing dinner with some friends afterwards so my passengers would be joining me.

Denis , I'm in SF and would like a ride. What time are you leaving?

You're the last one I can take, we're leaving at 12 pm, meeting at the corner of Fillmore and Eddy, text me @[masked] when you get there

I'm all set to go if someone in the original 6 can't make it. I'm in Los Gatos and could carpool from here or come up and park in the Japantown Garage and join Denis.

Hey Daryl, I haven't heard back from a few people yet, so you should go ahead and plan on coming. Perhaps Denis still has space in his carpool?

Could the people on the attending list please confirm by replying to this post with your intended method of getting to the park? Thanks!

Sent a message to Denis about carpooling. Worst case scenario, I can drive myself.

Hi all, this would be my first meet-up group of any kind. I do some gym climbing in the city and have done out door top roping twice. I don't have any gear to contribute but can bring a nicer camera. Would it be ok if I brought other gym climbing friends along? We're all roughly at the same level. V2-3 and 5.11a-c ish.

Hi Peter, unfortunately as the crag is not very big to begin with I've limited the size of the group so we're not overcrowding the area. Given your current position in the waitlist I'd say it's unlikely that you can bring others along, but there's a chance you could still join us yourself if people drop out. If not, there will hopefully be some future trips again soon!
