About This Workshop: This is an intensive 2 day photography workshop that is designed to help each attending photographer take their photography to the next level of image quality. Seraphina will spend a significant amount of time providing personal help to everyone to enable you to make major advances in the composition of your images.
During this workshop, you will be creating images in a variety of locations: Pristine scenic beaches, lighthouses, redwood forests, wildlife areas,Tibetan temples, Capitola by the Sea and the Full Moon shoot.
You will study and learn from Award Wining Master Seraphina.
One morning of the workshop will be devoted to reviewing photographs created the previous day in Seraphina's studio. Images will be projected and reviewed with helpful techniques for creative cropping and image enhancement in photoshop. Topic to be covered during this workshop:
• Understand the Art of Compostion.
• Using Creative Cropping to enhance your images.
• Learn the technique of Pre-Visualiaton pioneered by photographers like Ansel Adams.
• Master the Essential Elements of Exposure.
• Improve your understanding of the concept of Long Exposure.
• Explore the use of Wide Angle lenses in Landscape Photography
• Learn Seraphina's Post Processing Workflow.
• Discover techniques for enhancing your images in Photoshop.
Timeline for the Workshop:
Saturday, March 15:
9:00 am: Orientation
9:30 am: Landscape Photography, Creative Composition and Cropping lessons
10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Classroom session with individual student work.
12:30 pm -1:30 pm: Lunch in studio - no host.
1:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Photography sessions with assignments in Santa Cruz including the Full Moon shoot.
8:00 pm - No host Group Dinner
Sunday March 16:
9:00 am - On Sunday morning of the workshop at Seraphina's studio will be devoted to reviewing photographs created the previous day. Images will be projected and reviewed with helpful techniques for creative cropping and image enhancement in photoshop.
11:00 am -1 2:30 pm: Photoshop work flow and processing techniques
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Lunch break - no host.
1:30 pm - 6:00 pm: Photography sessions with assignments including Golden Buddhas shoot.
6:00 pm: End of workshop.
About Your Instructor: Master photographer and photographic craftsman Seraphina Landgrebe holds a Master of Arts degree in photography from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California.
She is an internationally acclaimed photographer, portrait artist and educator who has taught photography world wide and is an International educator and print judge at photography competitions at the PPA (Professional Photographers of America ) conventions teaching photography for 25 years to students worldwide. Her classical and romantic style has won her the hearts of photographers around the world. She was awarded "Photographer of the Year" for 9 consecutive years by the Professional Photographers of the Monterey Bay Area.
She has studied with Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Bret Weston.
Since opening her studio in Santa Cruz, she has been rewarded with honors and awards from both her local and national photographic associations.
Her best know work "Guardian of the Spheres" has been accepted into the permanent collection at the International Photography Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City.
Numerous images of hers have been included in the Professional Photographers of America's ASP traveling loan collection, the PPA loan collection at Disney World's Epcot Center and the Photokina Photography Show of Shows in Cologne, Germany. She has also been honored with three Fuji Masterpiece Awards.
