WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP IT'S BEEN: The Rock and Roll Photography of Jay Blakesberg
About the Photographer: Jay Blakesberg is a San Francisco-based commercial photographer and film maker whose work appears regularly in many magazines, including Rolling Stone and Guitar Player. Over the last 35 years, his photographic rock and roll journey has seen him work with many legendary artists including: The Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Radiohead, Phish, Dave Matthews and John Lee Hooker to name just a few.
He has published several volumes of his work which includes coffee table books on The Grateful Dead, Primus, The Mother Hips, The Flaming Lips, and a 30 year retrospective of his music photography titled ‘Traveling on a High Frequency”.
Recently Jay has directed several short documentaries as well as short form music videos for Jackie Greene, ALO, Nicki Bluhm, moe., and the Kronos Quartet.

Date: Wednesday, July 16
Time: Presentation from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm with a question and answer period from 8:15 pm to 8:30 pm.
Location: Apple Store - San Francisco, 1 Stockton Street at the corner of Market. We will be on the Second Floor of the store.
Cost: This is a FREE Event.
Please note: If you are planning to attend this presentation, we ask you to enter a Yes RSVP. If you enter a Yes RSVP and than find that you cannot attend, please take the time to change your RSVP to No.
Parking: There are Tow Away Zones on many of the streets around the Apple store. Some of them end at 6:00 pm so there is usually a lot of parking places available at that time. Other streets have tow away zones that end at 7:00 pm so be careful.
Parking Meters: There have been changes in the times for parking meters so you need to read the signs and also check the screens on the meter to determine the hours of operation for that particular meter. Some of the meters do not require payments after 6 pm but others do.
The Apple store is also very convenient to public transportation - the Powell Street BART station is close to the Apple store.
