What we’re about
A collective of the Bay Area Polyamory & Consensually Non-Monogamous Groups. A place for polyamorous* people to have a collected source for many poly-friendly happenings and resources in Marin, North Bay, San Francisco, Peninsula, East Bay, San Jose and Santa Cruz. Each group represented here is a separate entity. To learn about each group, please visit our ABOUT pages (menu bar on left hand side of this page). The group itself is not a dating or hookup app. If you're looking for that, there are many others to choose from. This is a place to list events of interest to polyamorous, open, RA, multiamorous, etc people. If you are unsure of what polyamory is, please spend some time here: www.lovemore.com
*This group also welcomes people who are Consensually Non-Monogamous (CNM); Ethically Non-Monogamous (ENM); Relationship Anarchist (RA); Solo-polyamorous; in an Open Relationship, and more!

- Brett Chamberlain of OPEN - ONLINE: LGBTQ & Polyam Peer Power group (San Mateo)Link visible for attendees
For our May 1 meeting, we welcome Brett Chamberlain of OPEN, an organization championing non-monogamous rights and acceptance. The non-monogamy landscape is evolving fast, with a surge in attention and a growing number of resources and communities. But this vibrant movement is overshadowed by a persistent social stigma and systemic barriers. Brett will be telling us more about the current and future projects supporting people in all sorts of consensually non-monogamous relationships. Brett says:
People power gets things done. Here are a few example of this in action:
- When Facebook launched an AI "dating coach" chatbot that perpetuated the most harmful myths and stigma around non-monogamy, we launched a rapid response and collected hundreds of petition signatures. Meta quietly patched the bot later that week.
- When a lifestyle club in Pittsburg was threatened with a surprise "sexually oriented business" tax that would have shut their doors forever, we helped mobilize community members to attend a meeting of the local Board of Supervisors, helping to prevent the club's closure.
- When Berkeley and Oakland proposed new protections for non-monogamous families and relationships, we mobilized dozens of phone calls, emails, and public comments to help ensure the ordinances' passage.
We don’t have to take this for granted! But to change laws and culture at scale, we need to advocate and organize! Brett will tell us more about OPEN, an advocacy nonprofit working to advance legal rights and cultural acceptance for non-monogamous families and relationships. OPEN has been pivotal in this area, securing protections and fostering awareness. Join the movement by signing up for OPEN's email list at www.open-love.org/hello. Together, we can create a more loving and inclusive world!
